Types of music and  their meaning

Simply, the music genre means the types of music. Everyone listens to music, and aliens, too in some movies. We love music obviously, but while listening we may wonder about its type. This blog has tried to clarify genres.

Electronic Music:

Electric instruments are used in electronic music. An electronic oscillator, theremin or synthesizer is used for the creation. Electronic music originated in the 1920s in Europe.  

 

Pop music:

This worldwide popular music genre originated in the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. Guitar, bass, piano, drums, amplifiers, piano, etc are commonly used. Some popular pop singers are Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Micheal Jackson, Ed Sheeran, Billie Elish and Justin Bieber.

 

Rock Music:

Rock Music known as 'Rock and Roll is one of the most popular genres. This music originated from Black American music in the late 1940s and early 1950s. The most common instruments used in rock music are the electric guitar, the electric bass, and the drums. Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles are some most popular Rock artists.

 

Soul Music:

Soul music is a combination of African gospel music, rhythm and blues and Jazz.

 

Country Music:

Country music is also known as Hillbilly music. It originated in the southern United States in the early 1920s. Common instruments used are Banjo, Bass, Dobro, Drums, fiddle and Acoustic Guitar. Some famous country music singers are Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, Shania Twain and Dolly Parton.

 

Funk Music:

Funk is a combination of Soul, Jazz Rhythms and Blues (R & B). This genre originated in African American communities in the Mid- the 1960s.

 

Reggae Music:

This music started in Jamaica in the late 1960s. Bob Marley popularized Reggae music all over the world though he wasn’t the pioneer.  Sizzla, Steel pulse, Desmond Dekker & Bob Marley are some popular and praised Reggae Music singers. Drums, bass guitar, electric guitar, keyboard, lead vocals and horn section are used in Reggae Music.

 

Hip Hop music:

Hip Hop or RAP music is a globally famous music genre. This music was born in the United States, especially in the South Bronx in New York City, by African- American youth. Some famous rappers of all time are Eminem, Dr Drey, Wiz Khalifa, Tupac and 50 cents. Turntables, Synthesizers, Drum Machines, Keyboard, and Computer Microphones are used to produce them.

 

Polka Music:

The polka is originally used in crunch dance or the genre of dance music familiar in Europe and America. It originated in the middle of the nineteenth century in Bohemia.

 

Punk Music:

Punk music originated in the 1960s in mid- 1970 in the United States, UK, and Australia. Punk music is based on structural simplicity and the vigorous rhythms of a Rock and Roll style.

 

Religious Music:

Religious music is also called sacred music. It is music performed or composed for religious use or influence. Different religion has different religious music.

 

Traditional and Folk music:

The folk music genre is classified as music that is orally passed from one generation to another. In each country in this world, in some cases, each district and community has its traditional and folk music style.
